Egypreneur is a great initiative that provides an avenue for creativity and inspiration for startups and ideas as well as a place to connect with entrepreneurs and people with like-minded aspirations. I wanted to be part of this positive enterprise as a means to build Egypt’s economy at a crucial time.
I am an Egyptian who lived all of my life abroad. From a young age I was exposed to change and attracted by ideas and unconventional approaches. This is mostly the reason which made me venture towards an initial career in IT, at a time when the industry was making a giant leap into the world of the Internet and the web. I started out as a software engineer and shifted into various roles including business analysis and project management. Writing, however, has always been and remains my passion. Reaching stagnation, I instinctively looked around me and within the industry for new opportunities and gaps in the market that desperately needed filling. I realised the speed at which the industry was advancing technologically while other important areas lagged behind and struggled to keep up. One important area was law.
At a time in my career where most people would call their peak, I decided to take a leap of faith and go down a different path. I made my career move into law. The journey has not been easy and it is far from over. There continue to be daily challenges. I faced resistance at the beginning at an odd career move and decision. But with perseverance, persistence and patience an accepting sense of resolve settles in and I found support in more ways than one. The important thing is never to give up and truly commit yourself to what you believe in.
Entrepreneuship as a concept is by far the best way to achieve this. And just how I used that concept to find a way to work towards filling a gap and creating a niche for myself, I joined Egypreneur as a Content Officer to try and help others do the same. Using my passion with writing and communicating, I would be able to provide the skills and experience to enable value-added content to be published and spread to the wider public. The ultimate aim is to motivate more people in embracing their own entrepreneurship spirit and with it, advance the Egyptian economy.
